Our reader and contributor “C” has shared what they would do if there were only 7 days left on earth. This is in response to our latest prompt:
“The world ends in seven days. No one will believe you. What do you do with the time you have left?“
I’d like to think that if I had limited time left, the way I live my life wouldn’t change that much. I wish I could live each day as if it’s my last, prioritizing the things and people that I love, but the reality is that I don’t think that’s really possible in our society.
So what would I do with this final time? I’d host a dinner party. Selfishly it’d be for myself to feel an overpowering of love one last time. But I’d drag all my favorite people from all around the world into my dining room and we’d eat good food, drink good wine, have good conversation, listen to good music, and of course we’d dance until the final minutes of the world blowing up.
I’d finally make time for the things I value most in life instead of worrying about school or work so much. And those valuables are really the people that I love. So I’m hosting a dinner party and everyone is invited.
This is what I’d do if the world was ending in a week and this is what I’d do if I had the power, ability, or courage to make the most of my whole life, however long it may be.
