Hello to all of you who have found their way over to this space. Whether you are first time visitors, repeat drop ins or subscribers I am honored that you would take time out of your day to read the untethered ramblings of this dispossessed prisoner. I am launching something new here that I would love to have feedback on and contributors to. With the help of the cleverest of English lasses, Emily, I am adding a space where readers and fellow writers can submit thoughts, questions, essays, flash fic, playlists, news, poetry, or whatever they wish. To help move things along we have decided on weekly or bimonthly prompts. Suggestions for prompts are also welcome. Responses to these prompts and all other contributions can be anonymous or signed, and emailed to either of the email addresses below.
The goal of this is to facilitate communication through art. To create a shared space where people can view and be seen without prejudice, without bias, without hate or fear or anything other than their shared humanity. What makes this different than other forums or groups? Well, it’s run by a bona fide prisoner, for one. One of the half-decent ones. Admittedly, it’s a low bar, but we work with what we have. Also, some of the people who have committed to contributing are fucking awesome. Now THAT bar is pretty high.:-)
I am excited to see what comes of this! The first prompt for the week of February 16 to February 22 is:
“What value do you have that sometimes causes you problems? Has this ever led you to question whether or not you should abandon it or modify it? Why or why not?”
R.
