Hello, and welcome.
This is Robert Hiraeth, and this is where I’ll be sharing my writing journey – the weekly prompts that keep me moving forward, the stories that demand to be told, and the thoughts that won’t leave me alone until I put them on paper.
You might be wondering about the name “Hiraeth.” It’s a Welsh word that captures something I’ve always felt but never had language for – a deep longing for a place or time that might never have existed. It seemed fitting for a writer who spends his time exploring the spaces between what is and what could be.
Every week, I’ll be working through writing prompts – sometimes taking just ten minutes, sometimes letting the words flow longer if they want to. These might become horror stories that make you check the locks, philosophical reflections that linger, unexpected comedy that catches you off guard, or personal essays that dig into what it means to be human.
This is where it begins. Thank you for being here.
Next week: the first prompt. Let’s see where the words take us.
